End of the Year

Guild members finished up the end of the year with a work day to make Audrey a quilt to wrap her in our love and prayers.  The disappearing 9-Patch was chosen so they cut fabric, sewed, pressed, cut again, sewed again, and pressed again.
This is the pattern that hit the design wall......
And here is the finished top, ready for Susie to take home and quilt.  Erlene did the binding and the Methodist women put in the ties and church members and friends tied and prayed it to the finish.

Frances was able to deliver the quilt to Audrey on Sunday and it is much appreciated by Audrey and admired by those that see it.  Thank you to all that were able to help and to those that prayed us through the day.

Museum crew had one more work day this year.......isn't this basket quilt beautiful.  In January they will be finishing up this quilt and then can add it to the completed list.
Documentation was started on the quilt below.  So much talent and ingenuity has been put into this treasurer.

The Museum committee finished out the year with a celebration party.  Diane was there as the  museum's representative and accomplishments, goals and concerns were shared by all.  Present were Lorraine, Erlene, Lynn, Judy and Vevia.  (Charlotte was not able to attend.)
Combined, the committee finished 15 quilts in 10 months and put in over 111 volunteer hours.  The committee started with only six members and though Tracy was lost to us this year and Pat got a paying job - the committee ended up the year with six members.  Thank you Lynn and Erlene for joining the committee.

2014 will be starting off even stronger with Leila, Bev and Martha joining in.  The schedule will be the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the morning and the 4th Wednesday of the month in the afternoon.  Now that the kinks are ironed out and the procedures down pat, guild members will be rocking this coming year.  Pressure is now on Diane though - she prepares the sheets with the Velcro and locates the boxes of quilts, and that's all besides her normal museum work and getting ready for the move to the new museum site.  Diane could still use the donation of white cotton sheets.

See you next year!
