Programs & Workshops for 2025

Monday, May 19th - Rope Bowls

with Darla Dunn

What to bring:  Ladies,

As Winnie had told us, the prices on some of the 3/16, 100 ft Perkhomey cotton rope are higher priced than others.  Yesterday I went to Amazon and put in for a black and another color - less than $6 ea.  Today I went to order and the black had gone up in price.  So if you are interested in getting some for the May 19th "Rope Bowls"  I suggest that you get it sooner than later.

As Winnie told us - you will need a sewing machine that does zig zags.  Color of thread in top and in bobbin that you want to use.  Regular sewing supplies like scissors and such.  Two - 5" charm squares to make the bottom and if you want the line of fabric shown around the lighter color bowl below - bring some fabric scraps.

Since we have several older members that do not like or can not haul their machines around - perhaps you might want to buddy up with one and let them use your machine to at least start their bowls so we all understand how to go about it.  Just an idea.  And I believe Winnie said that one "skein" of rope might make 4-5 bowls of the size she showed us.

Thank you Winnie for a really great sounding program.   V
