February 15th Sew Country, Belleville Quilt Show

Lorraine and I had a lot of fun on Saturday.  Not only did we get to see a couple of quilts at Sew Country after the BOM presentation for the month, but we also got to go to the Quilt Show at Country Place Living on 23rd Street, Belleville.  Saw a couple other guild members from Clay Center there also.
At Sew Country -
This was an older family heirloom of  Hearts and Gizzards brought in for Show 'n Tell.  The fabrics were so fun to look at.  Think this is also one of the blocks that the El's Kitchen BOM will be doing this year.

One of the attendees brought in this top she just finished and wanted to find backing for.  You have to look at it a couple of times and then you see the twisting and joining of all the circles.

Okay, I fell in love with this one.  Remember, you can click on a picture and have it come in larger.
This is such a bright quilt for a little one.  So full of color.

Then we went off to the Quilt show.

I didn't think this was a quilt I would like till I saw it through the camera's eye.  Those boxes/stars are shooting down at you, almost like a meteor shower.

Since this quilt show is showing you quilts made with fabric from, and past BOM offerings of Sew Country - you would think you would see the same old, same old.
But NO!
You see so many different ways to set quilt blocks - really astounding when you remember - they do have the same blocks.  Enjoy!

There were two with the picket fence border.  Thought I got both, but nope.  Sorry.

Loved this quilt, more of the modern look with negative space.

How cool is this one?  See the mini blocks that match up with the regular size.  What a way to add flavor to your quilt.  And then that one block that is repeated - took us a bit to see it.

Blew this little one up a little as it really caught my eye.
So many possibilities - so exciting.
I did not take pictures of every quilt on display - only enough to give you a taste and encourage you to attend next year.
Thank you to everyone that entered their work into the show.

Hmmm!  Maybe we should think about having a quilt show at our Country Place, Senior Living in Clay Center.
