Yeah! Excitement at the Fair Grounds and another year of growth for the Textile Open Class Division.
First off though is the change - look at these display cases! Aren't they lovely. So exciting to see them in the 4-H section of crafts and food. They look so great. Wonderful job Mr. Regier.
Back to the textiles - 72 enteries this year. In 2013 there were 59, 2014 there were 66 - so thank you everyone for getting down to the fair and raising the textile interest.
In quilts - extraordinary!!!!!
Quilts - quilted by eshibitor = 27
Quilts - not quilted by exhibitor = 18
You just have to go down and take a look. By Sunday they will be collected - so don't miss out.
I won't be a "name" dropper, but I am pretty sure you will see quite a few of the guild's members entered this year and now if we only had a better way to display.
Here are two of the Chicken in the Garden that our embroidery group finished. Was a little disappointed that they were not placed in the Silk Ribbon Embroidery for judging - but we do not have that class and not sure if the judge understood the silk ribbon aspect.
Very proud of the ladies for getting them down there and doing well.
Make sure you check out the "winners circle" - Cindy did a fantastic job with her boats
and Jan astounded the judge with her squares.
Look all around as you see what children and grand children accomplished also.
Hayley
Janet's grands
Verna Lee's grands
Virginia's grand
And of course we have talented people not just in textiles, but in other works of art also -
Virginia and Sara
Congrats to Mike for being such a good model for Sara - it worked!
Celebrating 75 years in other fields for our members also.
Get down to the fair and enjoy.
Congrats to everyone for entering.
Please forgive me if I missed names and grands - was having too much fun just seeing everything.
See you Monday night.
