2014 Christmas Party

President Frances greeted everyone as they arrived at the Christmas Patchwork Potluck dinner on Monday, Dec. 1st.
Her hat was absolutely the greatest.  Not only did Frances have a spring in her walk, she had a spring going on with her hat.

The stage was beautifully set with the 2014 Opportunity Quilt for all to get a last look at.

The tables were beyond gorgeous.  Ginny has a friend in Denver that through the years has carved all of the centerpieces that you saw on the tables.

SHE did a wonderful job.  There were so many cute old world santas.  Unfortunately, they had to all go back to Ginny at the end of the evening........haha.  Circle Christmas toppers, Verna Lee brought in.  The Christmas committee did a great job with the decorations.  Thank you for the candy too, loved those mints.

Food was abundant.  Not sure who brought in the Santa that decorated this table,

Nor who brought in the one on the dessert table.

Carol S. brought in her Christmas Around the World quilt for the table that received all of the donations for the Light House.  Thank you everyone for your donations.

Thank you also to everyone that brought in such great dishes to share.  There was plenty to pick from and no one went away hungry.  That three milk cake was out of this world.

After the dinner, Rachel was presented with her winning Opportunity Quilt.  Story is she did not even know that she had gotten a ticket.  Good job Erlene - what a great Christmas present for your mom.

Frances handed out a tied "scroll" to all the members present.  In the ideas given on the Membership Information Sheets for programs in the future, there was one about - LABELING - so to start everyone out right,  Frances gave us the scroll with two blank labels on it ready to be ironed on plain fabric and then filled in.  Thank you Frances for such a great idea.

Marilyn kept the UFO sheets for 2014 and through the year when you finished an item off of it and LET HER KNOW, she put in a slip of paper with your name for a drawing at the Christmas dinner.  Winners this year were Deb and Dixie.

REMEMBER - before the 2015 January meeting - prepare your UFO list to turn in.

Frances acknowledged each and every member that had either served on the board, committees or held other positions in the Guild.  It takes everyone doing their part to make our guild run so smoothly.  Frances also introduced us to the upcoming Board members and handed over the gavel to 2015 President - Carol S.
Thank you goes to Frances and all members for a great 2014 year.

We are all looking forward to 2015.

The last business to be conducted for the evening was thanking Frances for the job she had done as president.  Verna Lee presented her with a lovely box filled with Christmas Fat Quarters and slips of muslin that members had signed.  If you did not have an opportunity to turn yours in to Verna Lee, please give to Frances.  Frances does have a few blank muslin squares for you to sign if you did not receive yours.

The Patchwork Potluck was a wonderful way to end the 2014 Guild year.
Thank you to everyone for all the things you did this past year.

Have a safe Christmas and a happy New Year 2015.
See you in January.
