Volunteers working on the museum quilts have really gotten an education on names in our area.
This 1926 quilt was finished last month and rolled on to it's new hanger this month.
Below is a close up of the middle. We are all thinking that this was a much used quilt as it is faded and comfy.
Another signature quilt finished this past week is shown below. An easy 9 patch within a 9 patch that leaves plenty of room for signatures.
Some of the names on it have to do with the Pacey's. Take a look at the blocks and get an idea why some light colors lose their place in the scheme of things. This quilt had been repaired before it was donated to the museum. It was hand pieced and since it had later been zig zagged on the machine, we can only assume it was because it was coming undone. Lots of work in the repairing, whoever did it, did a great job.
Know any of the Burgman's?
Thank you to all the volunteers that keep us moving along.
