March at the Museum

The guild's volunteers at the museum, donate their time in two groups.  The first group works the 2nd Wednesday of the month starting at 10:00 am.  The second group works the 4th Wednesday of the month starting at 1:00 pm.  Both groups have worked hard this month and from documentation, vacuuming, sewing onto the protectors, hanging for pictures (with Jeff's help) and then rolling - it takes some time.  Dianne S. of the museum works even harder just making sure we have somewhere to work and preparing our materials.

This month she blessed our second group with the opportunity to roll a different type of "blanket" -

The museum received the above felted buffalo robe and want to make sure that it is kept in good condition for future generations, so Dianne asked our ladies to help prepare it for storing.  What an unusual item and very,  very heavy.  It was our pleasure to assist  -  just to be able to look the robe over.

Working together, each group has got their procedures down to what works best for them.  Here you see Erlene, Leila and Martha making sure that this birthday quilt is rolled with out creases.

Don't you just love two color quilts?  This one that the 2nd Wednesday group prepared is awesome.

What pattern name would you give it?

This quilt was done for a birthday celebration.  Each person embroidered their wishes in the centers of the blocks and then tied it for a perfect gift.

Flowers, sayings, wishes - memories never forgotten.

Thank you to each of our ladies.  With your time and energies, we have put in over 150 hours and completed 20 quilts.  You make the difference - THANK YOU!!!!
