2012 GUILD CHALLENGE

It took judges Diane, Barb and Trudy almost three hours to view and check out all 19 of the guild challenges this year.  On the back of the little white cards were comments on each entry.  Judges have declared that we must promise to do a little less beautiful creative work if we are to invite them back for another challenge.  Silly judges!  Our guild members only get better!!!!!!!!Carol had Robin Egg Blue and Salmon as her colors and when she saw this fabric.......ideas just started to flow.  Congratulations Carol.

Lisa had two greens - Granny Smith Apple and Green.  Oohs and aahs were heavy on this entry - as always Lisa does a great job on the hand work.  Congradulations Lisa.

Susie drew Black and Wisteria and decided it was a perfect time to make Mark his quilt.  Susie had taken a pattern from Audrey and had it blown up several years ago to do a quilt for someone else and her husband Mark wanted her to keep it instead.  She promised him someday........well this was the someday.  Congratulations Susie (AND Mark).

Vevia drew Yellow and Mahogony and decided now was the time to copy an old doily she has that is fading with the years.  After the embroidery work - many trial and error border techniques finally resulted in this finished table topper.  Piping, applique and a curved border made it complete.  Congrats Vevia.

All 19 entries stood out and showed off the fine skills and techniques our members have learned.  Every class taken, Round Robins attended, Quilt shows visited, you tube techniques viewed - every where our members have picked up hints and styles to add to their craft's repertoire.
A BIG congratulations goes out to each and every one and also a Thank You.
Thank you for sharing your work with others.
