Community Service Project Announced

Verna Lee is looking for the possibility of giving Dr. Linda Johnson - 150 - 300 - 500 - or whatever amount of baby blankets at the Christmas meeting in December. Verna Lee said that she has high hopes of what our members are capable of doing when they set their minds to it - so she was not limiting them. Our President Lisa has volunteered to store the quilt blankets as they come in through out the year and then bring them to the meeting in December to be presented to Dr. Johnson all at once. Deb gave us some great ideas last year with tummy time mats and small blankets - this years project is along the same lines from new borns up to a 5 year old. Verna Lee is working on a label to hand out to our members to sew on the back of the items, so that when Dr. Johnson presents them to Head Start, our Guild will get credit for the ones we give.

Helen, Cindy's visitor, brought examples of what her ladies have made and donated to the group they do their project for. So many ideas and they do not have to be fancy. A few of our members have brought in samples in the past of panels and blocks that have made up into some lovely baby blankets. If you have any questions, please call Verna Lee. She is very excited about this years project and will get you going in no time.
