November 2004, Barb was new in town and asking about the quilt guild here in Clay Center - there wasn't one. So she went about getting it started. From 5 attendees the first meeting, to 47 members this year, our guild has steadily grown and flourished.
Iowana had the honor of telling the group Monday night all about the start of our guild and the sad news that Barb was leaving next month.
Barb was presented a bag with the guild log on it, and when you open the bag - there were all the 5" blocks of well wishings the members were presenting to Barb. Hope Barb sends us a picture of the quilt memory item she makes from them.
A special "patchwork" cake was done by Ray's for the the refreshment part of the meeting.
Thank you again Barb for being the energy that got the guild going.
