SHOP HOP ROAD TRIP A BLAST !!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you - Audrey for planning this road trip. We had a wonderful time.

Three cars took off from Pamida around 8:35 am and headed for Fabric Essentials in Concordia. What a pleasure to shop at our leisure, get our passports stamped, pick up our "jewels of the prairie" and then head off to The Huckleberry Tea House for lunch. A deal was struck and everyone "dressed up" and Lois Lervold (the owner) took our picture in one group. Needless to say, the food was all fantastic - right down to the dessert. For those that were able to get on the KCLY Shopping Mall and get a $10 certificate for $7 or $7.50 - even the cost of dessert was covered.

Then it was off to Belleville and Sew Country. Every shop has their own style and fabrics - and Sheila did not disappoint us. After our shopping was completed, we held a little meeting and one car headed back to Clay Center for previous engagements and the other two headed to Mankato's Hidden Treasures Quilt Shop and then on to Downs and the Stuff n Such. Many of us had never even been to those towns, let alone those shops. What an adventure and what buys. Wow, the material we got on sale, and the patterns we picked up for $2 - $1 a piece - those were just extra toppers to a wonderful day.

My car riders would not let me stop - so I managed to take a shot on the run. Yeah!!!!! Now I have seen the largest ball of twine in the USA.
After a 222 mile road trip, picking up 4 "jewels of the prairie", seeing so many new sites and some wonderful stores with great ideas for the next projects - don't know about the rest, but I'm ready to sign up for the next adventure.
