October 13th Sew Day

Never - never - never - miss out on a chance to join with your fellow quilters -
chances are you will miss out on some wonderful gems!
Trudy was talking to Susie about quilting (natch!) and Sara gave us this quote to remember..

                                               "A Pattern is only
                                                  a suggestion! "

As you can see, the room was in tears laughing.  Thank you Sara for your words of wisdom.  hahahahahaha

Speaking of Sara.  .  .  she is one of the lucky ones.  Not only does she enjoy quilting and a wonderful bunch of women to hang around with - she also gets to do it with her mother AND her daughter.  Needless to say - I am a little jealous.....but then, I don't have any daughter's to sew with.  Keep it up ladies.

Trudy stopped by for "only" a few minutes, but there was too much going on to rush right home.

Before long Dixie dropped in to pick up some things and to get others opinions.  That is always the fun part of the day - sharing ideas.

Then Verna Lee stopped by and before long, the room sounded like a bee hive of activity.

Glad everyone got a chance to see what was going on and share ideas.
That bundle in the front of the picture is my project, primitive/big stitch quilting with #12 Pearl Cotton this time.

Hayley enjoys making her wonky stars.  She's not sure where this will go......but the journey is interesting.

Speaking of journeys, Christine decided that

The only impossible journey is the one you never begin.
– Tony Robbins
So she started her New Year's Resolution project.
Remember your January's NY'sR want to get done this year?  November meeting is the reveal stage.  And please, DO bring in your project in what ever stage it is in......inquiring minds want to see.
Sara is working on half square triangles

Lorraine was finishing up her binding.  (Later Susie helped with one side)

Take a look at the table behind Lorraine, it was full of samples of ideas for finishing quilts.
Birthing method to faux piping, to prairie point sides.  We do have a couple of instruction sheets left that will be on the table Monday night.

Susie was working on her applique flowers.

Want to know how you can insure you will win the door prize?  Say something like - what if I don't want it, and have people say back to you - well give it away.  That's what Lorraine did, and look........

her name got pulled and now she is not giving anything away.  Except for the scissor fob - it matched Susie's shears too well.
Before we finished for the day, Lynn stopped by to see what was going on also.

Thank you everyone for making it a fun Sew Day.
See you Monday night.
