Community Service Quilt Ready to Quilt

PQG Volunteers met at the Methodist Church on Tuesday to work on a Community Service Quilt.
Chair Ruth Ann and Francis B. had gotten together the strips the first part of the year and thanks to so many of our members, strips were sewn together and ready for squaring up.

After Francis and Vevia squared up the blocks, Ruth Ann had the help of several of the ladies, including Bev. R. , in laying them out in a rail fence pattern .

Then it was "off to the races" for all our sewers.  Thank you to Janet H., Carol B., Bev R., Sara B., Francis and Ruth Ann for doing such a great job sewing.  And thank you to Shirley H and Leila K for pressing those seams.
(Remember, you can click on the pictures and see them in more detail.)
The ladies did a fine job.  Before you knew it........

Francis was sewing up the last seam and......

What a lovely quilt to have ready for someone in need.
Thank you ladies for all your fine work.
Chair Ruth Ann is looking for someone to volunteer to quilt it.
Please get with her as soon as you can.  Believe the back is already taken care of.

Before we go.........does this little clipping bring back memories?

Carol found this clipping in some paperwork she had.
Maybe one of these days we can do another quilt show.
Have a safe 4th.
