The 2013 Guild Challenge this year was chaired by Juanita. With a little help she came up with the idea to do Dresdan Plates WITH embellishments. Wow the ideas! Please forgive the photographer in that we did not get great pictures of each entry. From now on - everyone has to hold up their work for a picture.
The small category was the largest with 8 entries. There were pillows, table toppers and runners, towels and even a tea party set.
Jan won 1st place with her table topper.
The medium/throw category only had one entry - Susie would have won hands down even with 40 entries - egads the work that went into her throw. Trapunto, shadowing, McTavishing - just so much wonderful work put into it. Sorry Susie could not be with us - Congrats Suz!
We had four entries in the wall hangings.
Carol B won 1st place with her Dandelion Dresdan's. Unfortunately you can not see her little "tufts" of blow away seeds in this picture (click on picture to blow it up for better viewing) - was a great idea for the embellishment.
Large category was entered in and won by Charlotte. Lovely technique of cross stitching her Dresdan Blocks.
Best of Show was won by Judy. She came up with her own pattern/design for her candle placemat. You will get a chance to get another close up look at it when you go to the Christmas Party. Nancy called dibs on it to decorate her table.
We have such wonderful talent in our guild. Thank you to everyone that entered and gave us some wonderful possibilities with Dresdan blades.
