Musuem Quilt

Documenting the quilts that are at our museum, sometimes take a bit of time.  The one shown here was finally finished today.  All the presidents and the dates they held office for the first 200 years of the USA was listed on this Bicentennial quilt that Miss Mellon's 6th grade class at McKinley School had made in 1976.  Then Miss Isenberg's Special Home Ec. Class completed putting it together in 1980.  It was a rare treat to see what the students considered important to place on this quilt and to see all their names written on it also.  We had fun documenting and preparing it for storage so that many more to come in the future can see what a great job they did.  The back is done in red/white and blue/white bandanas - remember them?

Thank you to our volunteers and their making it happen.
