Wow Wow - Sew Day

Great Turn Out  -  And great day!

Started out a little cloudy and we were not too sure how many would show up; however, before the day was out - we had 13 members sewing / cutting / planning / tieing / etc. away.
Charlotte started out with a little trouble on her machine, but with Leila's help they resolved it.

Leila also aided Carol in squaring up her quilt that she showed us the top to at the meeting on Monday, Susie took it home and had it back to Carol on Friday.  Yeah! Susie!  Carol has a time crunch as it is for a graduate.  Carol was able to get it squared up and the binding made and sewn on.  Wonderful day to have bigger tables and lots of people to help.

Jeanette and Sara had a lot of fun just catching up on news.  Janet cut her heart out on Saturday and I think she has enough cut now to make 3 - 4 or more quilts.  Wonderful when you have a HIGH table - right Janet?  hahahahah

Hayley brought several projects, she was embroiderying here, but she also sewed blocks together.  Mom and daughter did have to leave early to start prepping for the prom - and believe us - Hayley was gorgeous walking the red carpet later that night.

Verna Lee brought in a quilt to tie and of course showed off the needle that she had shown us at guild.  Did a wonderful job and made it so much easier.
Lynn used her time to get some gorgeous blocks done - don't know why, but I missed getting a picture of the blocks.  Wait until you see them.....wow!

Okay Twins - look closely.  Tracy had a little help from the empoyees at All About Quilts in picking the right material to try out a "4-Patch Posie".  Bonnie and Janet showed Tracy a few tricks that made it easier to cut the repeats into squares.
Wow the designs.  It was like fireworks.  And the fabric she got to border the blocks is another wow factor.  Heard tell from Tracy on Sunday night that she has been so inspired by this that she had put all the stuff together and was at that time working on the last border.  Looking forward to seeing that finished project.

After Charlotte got her sewing machine working, she had a couple of projects with her.  Though this one is not done - decided after all her hard work - had to show off at least one.  There are still borders to add - so be looking for it at maybe the next quild meeting.

The guilds BOM was also on display at the sew day - guess who these belong to?  Not telling.  Another one we will be looking forward to seeing put together.

Thank you ever so much to everyone that helped set up the room, brought goodies (Bonnie's cake was GREEEEAT), helped others, encouraged, demonstrated and joined in the laughter, besides helping with the vacuuming and cleaning up afterwards.  Many hands make a task all that more fun.

See you all at the next sew day.
