December Christmas Party

We have a great membership.......at 9:30 Monday morning the members started arriving and pitched right in to set up for the Christmas Party.  It went so fast with so many helping hands that we were out of there in less than an hour.

Dinner started right at 6:30 with a wonderful "Story" from Frances B. (hopefully no husbands were paying her any attention) and prayer from Carol S.  Then it was right to the serving lines.  Food was separated into three tables this year to make the lines go through a little smoother.

With our group, waiting in line only gives you more time to talk to members and guests, and get to know others.

We still had members and friends working to make baby blankets throughout the year to deliver to Dr. Johnson for her blanket drive.

Light house personal item donations were overflowing.  Thank you Robert for delivering them.

Santa's helper - Frenchy the Elf - paid our guild a visit and handed out candy to all the good little "girls and boys".

I think Nancy was also giving Santa's helper her Christmas List to take to the big guy.

Carol blessed all members present when she gave us her last creative idea for the year with step by step instructions for a thumb pincushion and then presented each member with a completed and decorated one that she had made herself.   Wow!  Thank you Carol.   She next recognized the board members and gave them each a journal so that they could start jotting down ideas like Velda Becker had told us at her program last month.

Didn't get pictures of the UFO winners, but congratulations to Deb for finishing 9 this year and Lisa for finishing 6.  Get your lists made up of UFO's to hand in to the UFO Chairperson in January.

Then it was time for Carol to hand off the gavel to the 2013 President Verna Lee.  Verna Lee's first official duty was calling up Lisa to present the Presidents Blocks to Carol, thanking her for all the great work she had done this year. If you have not had a chance to turn in your block, it is never too late.  Just hand them to Carol next time you see her.

All our members did a great job in 2012.  Looking forward to 2013 and the wonderful surprises, hints, programs, sewing days, etc.........in store for us.
Meeting Adjourned.
