"Getting our Geek on at the Library"

The library did a fantastic job of providing our guild with rails a plenty to display all the quilts that were loaned for the Geeking Quilting in Feb.  Classes were given for three age groups - Adults, teens and 6th grade and under.  There are some promising future quilters in our area.

A huge gigantic THANK YOU to Leila, Audrey, Frances B, Carol S, Cindy, Charlotte, Iowana, Dixie, Erlene, Rachael, Verna Lee and Bonnie for volunteering their quilts for the show.    The Library staff have requested that we think about bringing another display to them next year, so others might have a chance to volunteer their show pieces at that time.

Gloves were provided for those that wanted to check out quilts really close up.

Teens learn that quilts come in all sizes, including cuff blanks that are ready to embellish.

Embellishing quilted blanks, produced great cuff bracelets for the teens

Making a sandwich helps explain Quilting, the same as having a trunk show just for kids shows all the possibilities.  (Thank you Bonnie for all the Childrens quilts you loaned to us.  The one shown here was the greatest hit.)  Top right and bottom left - designing their own quilt blocks
