2011 OPPORTUNITY QUILT KICK OFF SEW

A special thanks goes out to everyone that donated
fabric for the 2011 Opportunity Quilt kick off sew.
Wow what beautiful colors and patterns to pick from.

The crew were blessed from the start. Church staff informed us that we did not have the 2 pm deadline and could go as long as we liked. Phsseewh! What a huge decrease in tension. First order of business was pressing the material, then off to our cutters and then on to our color coordinators. Now that was a job that yours truly was asked kindly not to volunteer for. Okay, so I don't see the pink or yellows inside colors - thankfully we had a group that are eagle eyed and could match up without the shock value. Then off to the sew-ers, back to the press-ers and again to the cutters.

Course the best part was putting 120 partial blocks in a pattern that would make the 30 finished blocks look fantastic. Some got into their work a little more livelier than others.

The quilt is off to a great start and everyone was cleaned up, out of there and the doors locked by 3:30 pm. Thank you to the 10 ladies that gave their all on Wednesday. Was a great crew and as Committee Chairperson - Stacy extends a big appreciation to all.
