Quilting history demonstrates in one way how Mother's are the greatest teachers our society has. In honor of those that have helped to keep quilting alive by teaching their own and other's children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends and neighbors - we called on women that have taught the oldest, youngest, closest, farthest, etc. to stand and accept a slight token of appreciation for keeping quilting going. Though as Marilyn pointed out, we do need more children to teach to make sure that it stays alive in our community.
