Take a break every 50 min? oh oh!!!
Some of us are in real big trouble. Who knew that getting into the swing of things could prevent you from swinging into things in the future. But we know now!
Thanks to Shawa Pederson, Occupational Therapist, guild members not only know that the ironing board should be 6 inches below your bent elbow, they also know what to do with a "Six Pack" - of exercises that is.
Shawna did not have any trouble getting audience participation as she demonstrated ways to keep your hands in shape and keep some of those pains and kinks at bay. At a certain age you may start to use arthritis as an easy excuse when really it is just that we did not know that it is good to go in other directions with our muscles. We get boxed in with certain positions and our body is hollaring at us to give it a break.

If you happen to see a guild member
using one of the hand positions described
in the hand out - don't worry, we are not
imitating Spock, though we do wish all to
live well and prosper.
